Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a teacher as did her mother, who was a housewife. Michael Dennis Kevin is her three elder siblings. Beginning at a very early age McCormick enjoyed singing and dance, and she would frequently perform puppet shows for youngsters in the area. The fairytale story of her rise to fame started when she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was six, which prompted an inquiry from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked whether she wanted to be in show business. McCormick was offered her first significant task in 1964 when she appeared in a TV commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year, she starred for an additional company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately selected for The Brady Bunch La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the role of the oldest daughter in the three towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. In it she revealed that McCormick was close to losing her virginity on set of the series during its fifth season to Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book Here's the Truth: surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, that during the fifth season of the show, she was close to losing her virginity to Barry Williams. It was likely that we would have a romantic relationship, said she. But the timing wasn't just right.
